《Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science Edition)》創(chuàng)刊于1986年，是由武漢理工大學(xué)主辦。

《Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science Edition)》為國(guó)內(nèi)材料領(lǐng)域的綜合性學(xué)術(shù)刊物，本刊1999年受到中國(guó)科協(xié)和國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金聯(lián)合頒發(fā)的重點(diǎn)扶持性資助，被中國(guó)科技論文統(tǒng)計(jì)源期刊，中國(guó)科學(xué)引文數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)來(lái)源期刊，中國(guó)學(xué)術(shù)期刊綜合評(píng)價(jià)數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)來(lái)源期刊，中國(guó)期刊網(wǎng)和萬(wàn)方數(shù)據(jù)網(wǎng)源刊等收錄。

《Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science Edition)》刊載材料科學(xué)（非金屬材料、復(fù)合材料、有機(jī)高分子材料、金屬材料等）的學(xué)術(shù)論文。重點(diǎn)發(fā)表納米材料、無(wú)機(jī)非金屬材料科學(xué)及工程、生物材料、復(fù)合材料新技術(shù)等學(xué)科且受到國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金、863項(xiàng)目、十五十一五等計(jì)劃項(xiàng)目、973項(xiàng)目等國(guó)家級(jí)科學(xué)基金資助的論文。

《Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science Edition)》的主要任務(wù)是：反映材料及其相關(guān)領(lǐng)域內(nèi)最新科研及工程應(yīng)用成果(包括新理論、新產(chǎn)品、新工藝等)，主要刊登材料基礎(chǔ)研究及應(yīng)用研究的學(xué)術(shù)論文，注重發(fā)表校內(nèi)外作者的省部級(jí)以上科研基金資助課題的產(chǎn)出論文。讀者對(duì)象為國(guó)內(nèi)外從事材料及其相關(guān)專(zhuān)業(yè)的工作者及大專(zhuān)院校師生。
